Painting Walls & Ceilings

Painting Walls & Ceilings

Painting is a project that works best if you have a painting partner. One of you can be the outliner, the other the roller.  The outliner uses a brush to cut in, or outline, all the areas a paint roller can’t reach. The roller spreads paint. If you’re painting solo, you get to change hats by switching tools and performing both tasks.  If you’re painting with a partner, give the outliner a head start to paint a two-inch band along the joint between the ceiling and the wall. The outliner observes the top down rule, which means he should first paint the...

New Kitchen Faucet Installation – Part 2

New Kitchen Faucet Installation – ...

We’re just picking up where we left off in our first part of this kitchen faucet installation. If you missed it, you can get caught up by going here for part 1. Now we’re going to get down below and try to do a few things under the sink for the actual hook up. Installing a Kitchen Faucet

Installing a Kitchen Faucet

Today we’re going to have a look at how to install a kitchen faucet. So we’ve actually already installed the actual faucet that we’re using here but I’ve purchased a very similar one just so we can show you the basics of what you’re going to go through to put it in with the small cabinet under this particular sink. It’s pretty hard to get down there to show you very much. So one of the main things is you’re going to have a few choices, you could have a faucet such as this one that has a single lever of some sort, it could be on the side, it could be on the back whatever....

Build Your Own Gate – part 2

Build Your Own Gate – part 2

Putting up a gate – at least writing about putting up a gate – take a while. I figured it would be easier for you to digest in 2 parts, so I split it up. If you want to go back and read the first part, just click here for part 1. Ok so just getting that hinge straight, I actually should have a bigger driver. Let’s see if I can make this one work. Ok this hole here is really close to the edge of the picket so I am just going to leave that one out for now, if I need it, I will pre drill that hole and try to get one in there without splitting, okay I’ve got this in place now...

Building a Gate

Building a Gate

Today I want to discuss with you how I would build a gate for a fence. We have already built the fence and as far as the gate goes, I have already pre fabed the main framework to the gate just to speed up time. So you can see I have constructed it out of two by four framing. So I built my outside framework and I used construction adhesive and screws to hold it together, I then put in an angled cross brace which will help support this far end from sagging. The right hand end will be the end that’s hinged and it’s going to go right over in this opening right here. So this...
